A typical experimental procedure is given for compound 4a. ¹H NMR (400.13 MHz, CD₂Cl₂, 30 °C): δ 7.75 (d, 2H, ArH), 7.52 (br, m, 20H, ArH), δ 7.37 (d, 2H, ArH), 6.99 (s, 2H, ArH), 3.14 (bm, 4H, Aliph-CH), 2.61 (bm, 4H, Aliph-CH), 2.38 (s, 6H, Aliph-CH), 1.88 (s, 6H, Aliph-CH). ³¹P{¹H} NMR (162.0 MHz, CD₂Cl₂, 30 °C) δ 46.7 (s, ¹J_P-Pt = 3133 Hz). HRMS (ESI): m/z calcd for C₄₄H₄₆P₂PtS₂ [M-2BF₄]²⁺: 447.6082, found: 447.6086. Single crystals suitable for X-Ray studies were grown by slow diffusion of diethyl ether, layered on top of a dichloromethane solution of 4g in a NMR tube.
