Dysregulation of MET signaling is common across many cancers, but developing therapeutic strategies that can successfully target this activity has so far remained elusive. Previously, a phase 2 combination study of onartuzumab with Roche's vascular endothelial growth factor A (VEGF-A) inhibitor Avastin (bevacizumab) failed in glioblastoma. So, too, did a combination of onartuzumab, Avastin and Taxol (paclitaxel) in triple-negative breast cancer.
