DISC1 regulates N-cadherin and β1-integrin expression in neurons

siRNA targeting specific DISC1 sequences (siRNA-1) or scramble siRNA (control) with a green fluorescent protein (GFP)-expressing vector was transfected into rat primary hippocampal neurons at 1 DIV and cells were fixed at 4 DIV. The cells were immunostained with anti-N-cadherin or anti-b1-integrin antibody. The expression of both N-cadherin and b1-integrin was decreased in cell bodies and neurites of DISC1 siRNA-transfected neurons (right panels). Scale bars, 20 μm.
