The photo that accompanied the News story ‘Ukraine’s science in turmoil’ (Nature 508, 15–16; 2014) was not of the Crimean Astrophysical Observatory as stated but of a military radar station in the region. The correct image of the observatory can be seen at go.nature.com/elhdtf.
