Abstract
THE formation of adenosine 3′,5′-monophosphate (cyclic AMP) from adenosine 5′-triphosphate (ATP) in central nervous tissues seems to be controlled by catecholaminergic and histaminergic mechanisms1. Also in a peripheral autonomic ganglion, the intact superior cervical ganglion (SCG), accumulation of cyclic AMP was observed in response to electric stimulation2 and to (β-adrenergic agents3, and histamine4,5.
