Abstract
WE have previously shown that human platelets, in addition to actomyosin, the so-called thrombosthenin1, contain a tropomyosin-like protein2. Furthermore, we provided evidence for the presence in isolated platelet actomyosin of a control system which “turns-on” the Mg-ATPase of the contractile protein complex at a saturating level of 10−6 M Ca2+ (ref. 2).
