We read with interest the recent article in which Paquette et al1 evaluated the in vitro and in vivo ability of interferon-α (IFN-α) to induce dendritic cell (DC) differentiation in chronic myeloid leukemia (CML). We agree with their conclusion that the therapeutic activity of IFN-α in CML may be because of its ability to stimulate the generation of DCs that can present CML-specific antigens.
