Abstract
A DEVASTATING storm struck the north-eastern coast of the Bay of Bengal near Chittagong (22.0 N, 91.5 E) on November 12–13, 1970. A meteorological analysis of the storm was recently presented by Frank and Husain1. Storm surge data for Chittagong harbour (Fig. 1) were given to me by G. T. Bell, Royal Observatory, Hongkong.
