Immunogenic Effects of Foreign Materials on Plasma Proteins

Abstract

THE increasing variety of polymeric materials considered for long term implantation in man has emphasized the importance of adequate testing for compatibility. Methods currently used for evaluation1–3, however, reveal little about the mechanisms which might cause incompatibility after prolonged implantation.
