Abstract
SMALL lymphocytes are known to act as specific mediators of delayed hypersensitivity reactions and immunoglobulin (Ig) determinants1,2 and antigen-specific receptor sites3,4 have recently been demonstrated on the lymphocyte surface. We have investigated in guinea-pigs the numbers of circulating small lymphocytes binding tuberculin in relation to the development of delayed hypersensitivity to tuberculin during primary immunization with BCG vaccine.
