Abstract
WE have recently made a number of rather precise measurements of the first-order rate constant for the SN1 solvolysis reaction between benzyl chloride and water, that is Both the temperature and the pressure coefficients of the rate constant were determined and particular attention was given to the temperature range 0–10° C.
