Response to Criteria for the Designation of Persons working with Unsealed Radioactive Substances

Abstract

HUGHES has outlined the derivation of criteria that he uses to decide if a worker using unsealed sources of radioactive material should be designated or not1. Although I think that this general approach to the problem is appropriate, I would suggest that some of the numerical values of the parameters used in the derivation could be improved.
