Abstract
THE Magellanic clouds contain only small amounts of obscuring matter compared with our galaxy. The maximum reddening observed is of the order of EB−V = 0.5 magnitudes, and UBV photometry suggests that the extinction law in the clouds follows the 1/λ law1.
