Reinitiation of RNA Chain Synthesis in vitro

Abstract

During transcription of bacteriophage T4 or T5 DNA in 0.2 M KCl, RNA polymerase is able to terminate the synthesis of RNA chains, dissociate from the DNA template and reinitiate new RNA chains on new DNA templates.
