Abstract
STREPTOZOTOCIN, a broad spectrum antibiotic with a unique structure (glucose-NHCON(NO)CH3), has several interesting properties. It is diabetogenic, carcinogenic, carcinostatic and phage-inducing1–4. It has recently been shown to be mutagenic for Salmonella typhimurium in vitro5.
