Abstract
VIRUS diseases have been recorded in Picea excelsa L. (= P. abies (L.) Karst.) by Čech et al.1, and in Pinus sylvestris L. by Schmelzer et al.2 (Scots pine mosaic) and by Jancarik and Blattný3 (Scots pine bushy stunt virus). This communication records for the first time the presence of similar diseases in Great Britain and the occurrence of a previously undescribed virus in a five needled pine, Pinus monticola Dougl.
