Abstract
WE have found a close connexion between the functional state of the retina and certain inductive processes in the developing vertebrate eye. Such studies, carried out during functional ontogenesis, were based on theoretical concepts of the unity of the evolutionary origin of functional and formative phenomena and their close connexion in animals1,2.
