Abstract
SILICIC volcanic rocks (Moat volcanics) of the White Mountain magma series, which crop out in the Moat Mountain and Mount Kearsarge (Pequawket) areas of northern New Hampshire, USA1,2, are dominantly of pyroclastic origin. The comendites2 of these areas are chiefly, if not almost entirely, phenocryst-rich, lithic-poor to moderately lithic-rich tuffs. Most of the tuffs seem to have been densely to moderately welded and probably many, if not most, are of ash-flow origin.
