Abstract
Aphelenchoides bicaudatus (Imamura) Fil. and Sch. Stek. is a widely distributed nematode which inhabits the soil. It has been reported in Japan1, in India2, in Venezuela3 and in Queensland4, Australia. Colbran4 reported that it reproduced on fungal cultures. A survey showed that A. bicaudatus occurs widely in soil in New South Wales. It was found also in mushroom beds in two of fifty-two samples examined, but the numbers present were low, less than 50/g of compost.
