Phagocytic Activity after Thymectomy

Abstract

IN recent years it was shown that thymectomy soon after birth causes impairment of the immune response of the mature animal. A depression of antibody production was reported in mice1, rats2, rabbits3 and guinea-pigs4, and a depression of the homograft reaction was observed after thymectomy5.
