Localization of an Inhibitor preventing Mammary Tumour Development in Mice

Abstract

MANY research workers have found it difficult to get high incidences of tumours using a partially purified mammary tumour agent injected into test mice. It was found that the agent retains its high biological activity after centrifugation in caesium chloride density gradients1. This finding makes it unlikely that the usual procedures for purifying the agent, such as clarification with versene and ultracentrifugation, inactivate it.
