Abstract
THE purpose of this communication is to discuss the various techniques which have been used to obtain information concerning the velocities of dislocations, and particularly to point out the differences between techniques. In view of these differences, suggestions are offered as to how the various results ought to be interpreted in order to provide the most useful information.
