Abstract

CARCINOLIPIN, the carcinogenic lipid isolated from biological materials1, was found to stimulate protein syn thesis in cell-free systems2. However, it was not possible to decide if it affected this process directly or only in directly, since protein synthesis is an energy-dependent reaction3.
