Abstract
THE existence of human skeletal muscle fibres with more than one motor end-plate has been demonstrated in the orbicularis muscle of the eyelid1 and the lateral rectus muscle of the orbit2. Recent research has also prompted the postulation of multi-motor end-plate muscle fibres in the human vocalis muscle3–5. Other workers6,7 deny this possibility.
