Abstract
THERE are many situations where the complete definition of a project depends on a choice from a variety of options. When these choices are technically interdependent, the task of exploration of the field of possibilities is a complex one. Since problems of this kind are widespread, an understanding of their mathematical nature might well lead to considerable benefit. This communication concerns only the mathematical problem and does not discuss practical implementation.
