Abstract
THE isolation and identification of a D-glucose derivative in which the hydroxyl groups at positions C-3, C-5 and C-6 and an S-methyl group are commonly linked to form an orthocarbonate-type structure is reported. Such a carbohydrate derivative has not been shown previously.
