Distribution of Intravenously Administered Saccharated Iron Oxide in the Popliteal Lymph Node of the Rabbit

Abstract

LABELLED thoracic duct lymphocytes transfused into host rats have been shown to migrate across the walls of the post-capillary venules of the lymph node, through the cortex into the medullary lymph sinuses1,2. In the present investigation, the fate of non-cellular particles in the lymph node of rabbits has been examined using intravenous saccharated iron oxide (‘Ferrivenin’, Benger) as the marker.
