Anomalous Doppler Radiation and Very-low-frequency Emissions

Abstract

MANY of the short duration electromagnetic emissions from the Earth's outer atmosphere show frequency variations like those of Fig. 1. The frequency is observed, to fall rapidly with time and then rise, usually at a much greater rate, and although the duration and frequency-range may vary within fairly wide limits, these phenomena, called hooks, may be recognized as belonging to a single class.
