A Factor in the Serum of Tumour-bearing Rats which is Deleterious to Cells in Tissue Culture

Abstract

IN attempts to improve the growth of a transplantable rat carcinoma (S.C.K.1)* in tissue culture by the addition of rat serum, it was observed that sera from rats bearing S.C.K.1 did in fact exert a deleterious effect on the cells. This observation was investigated.
