Abstract
As revealed in the experiments using rat liver and chicken kidney, the microsomes consist immunologically of a number of different antigenic components1. On the other hand, it has become well known that the microsomal fraction contains many kinds of enzymes2. The question thus arises whether the immunologically resolved components may also differ from each other in enzymatic activity. In this communication we report that the activities of esterase and phosphatases are respectively localized in antigenically different components of the microsomes.
