Persistence of Mucopolysaccharide Inclusions in Cultures of Lymphocytes from Patients with Gargoylism

Abstract

IT has been shown that patients with gargoylism (Hunter–Hurler syndrome) have abnormal deposits of mucopolysaccharides in various organs1. Inclusions of mucopolysaccharide have also been found in a proportion of the lymphocytes from peripheral blood2. We wish to report some observations made on lymphocytes in cell cultures obtained from gargoyle patients.
