AN improved azo dye method1 has been applied to human blood cells by which acid phosphatase activity could be demonstrated in all peripheral leucocytes and platelets. This technique is based on the use of phosphate esters of ‘Naphthol AS’ derivatives2 as substrates and hexazonium p-rosanilin as a coupler3,4.
