Abstract
STIMULATIONS in the growth of algae1,2 and seedlings3 by added ethanol solutions prompted Cossins and Turner4 to report preliminary experiments which indicated that ethanol, accumulated under anaerobic conditions, can be utilized by pea seedlings under subsequent aerobic conditions.
