Abstract
3-AMINO-1,2,4-TRIAZOLE is a chemical which inhibits growth and chlorophyll synthesis in higher plants1. The inhibition of chlorophyll synthesis has been shown to result not from similarity in structure of the triazole ring to the pyrrole ring of chlorophyll2, but to a direct effect on plastid development, with secondary influence on the pigment content of the plastids2–4.
