Abstract
HYDROCORTISONE potentiates the physiological effects of epinephrine and norepinephrine1. The mechanism of this action remains obscure. Recently, reaction of oxidation products of the catechol amines with the sulphydryl group has been demonstrated in vitro 2,3. Further in vitro studies suggest that the physiological interrelationship between hydrocortisone and the catechol amines may involve the sulphydryl group.
