Interspecific Differences in Strontium Uptake by Pasture Plants as a Function of Root Cation-Exchange Capacity

Abstract

VOSE and Koontz1 have reported differences in strontium contents of pasture plants. As there is evidence that the uptake of cations may be influenced by the root cation-exchange capacity of plants2–4 it was of interest to compare the observed variation in strontium uptake among the plants with the corresponding root cation-exchange capacities.
