‘Eddy’ Diffusion in Chromatography


UNDER the above title, J. Calvin Giddings1 has discussed the axial spreading of the solute in chromatographic columns which is responsible for the smearing of zones and in particular the contribution made to this by ‘eddy’ diffusion.
