Abstract
IN their paper on the antigenic role of nucleic acid Lackman et al. 1 have shown that pneumococcal horse serum can be absorbed by homologous carbohydrate, nucleic acid ‘precipitins’ remaining intact. They have demonstrated in a series of absorption tests that the two ‘precipitins’ in question are serologically distinct. The authors suppose that they are formed in course of immunization with pneumococci.
