Abstract
THE presence of several races of the blight fungus, Phytophthora infestans, was recorded in Northern Ireland by Doling1. Races commonly occurring in commercial crops were race 0 and race 4, the latter predominating. However, from hybrids of Solanum demissum × Solanum tuberosum further races were identified as follows: race 1; race 2; race 1, 2; race 1, 4; and race 1, 2, 4.
