Abstract
SEVERAL investigations of the electric strength and high-field conduction of n-hexane and similar hydrocarbon liquids have been made in recent years, and reproducible measurements have been reported, for example, by Lewis1, Sharbaugh, Crowe and Cox2, and by House3. New experiments of mine, however, indicate that nearly all these results were strongly influenced by the presence of dissolved oxygen.
