Abstract
COMPLEMENT is normally estimated by the hæmolytic method, for which at least four components must be present: whichever is present in least relative amount controls the ‘titre’. A simple method for estimating some or all of these components separately would be of value, particularly in clinical investigations. An immuno-diffusion method in agar1 has been applied to the semi-quantitative estimation of one of these, probably C′ 1, in human sera.
