Abstract
WHILE studying specimens from Černý Důl in Krkonoše (Giant Mountains), Bohemia, a new mineral of composition Cu2As has been found in the bicarbonate gangue together with arsenic, silver, smaltite, löllingite, chalcocite and other minerals. This new mineral has been found under the microscope in the form of fine grains, which occur in intergrowth with another copper arsenide, to be designated for the time being as mineral X. Mineral X forms edges around aggregates of arsenic and markedly displaces them.
