Abstract
THE author specifically states that this work is not an entirely fresh study of the Early Stone Age in south-eastern Asia. It is based on his own field-work for the most part published during the War, particularly in a work entitled “Early Man and Pleistocene Stratigraphy in Southern and Eastern Asia". The present version, however, is intended mainly for those anthropologists and prehistorians who are not primarily interested in geological matters, and such considerations have been omitted, except in so far as a chronological sequence is necessary to make the story intelligible.
