Abstract
WHEN a spinal anæsthetic leaves the subarachnoid space and the neural elements contained therein, it enters the general circulation, by which agency it is distributed among the various tissues of the body. Hitherto, on account of the technical difficulties attendant upon the estimation of an anæsthetic substance at low concentration in the presence of gross tissue excess, precise studies of tissue distribution have not been made.
