The Kinetics of Reactions in Solution

Abstract

WHEN the first edition of this book appeared in 1933, it Was not generally believed that reaction kinetics in solution could be profitably interpreted on a molecular basis, and there was relatively little planned experimental Work of high accuracy. The author then attempted to show that a simple kinetic picture would account for a large number of the observed facts, and the success of this attempt provided an important stimulus for later theoretical and experimental work on reaction kinetics in solution. The amount of such Work during the last fifteen years is very large, and the task of producing a second edition of the book must have been a formidable one.
