Abstract
AMONG numerous factors which determine the magnitude of the diminution Δ i on irradiation of the discharge current i1–6, the gas pressure p has been found to have a marked influence. The rectifier type A.C. indicator used previously3 was replaced by a Cambridge vacuo-junction; this increased appreciably the sensitivity of the arrangement, since the corresponding galvanometer deflexions are proportional to i2.
