Abstract
WE have received a copy of the first issue of a new zoological periodical entitled the Indian Journal of Entomology (vol. l.pts. 1 and 2. June 1939). This journal is to be published twice a year by the Entomological Society of India and the subscription price abroad for non-members of that Society is Rs. 16 per annum. All communications should be addressed to the General Secretary, Entomological Society of India. Agricultural Research Institute, New Delhi, India. It is intended to publish papers on both pure and applied entomology, besides short notices about new books and reviews of recent research, etc. The chief editor is Dr. Hem Singh Pruthi who, with five other Indian entomologists, forms the editorial board. The present number is well produced; it contains eight scientific articles and runs to 137 pp. together with illustrations. We wish this new journal every success, and if it results in the ‘localization’ of much future Indian entomological work within its pages, instead of the present diversity of sources for its publication, it will prove a definite boon to workers all over the world.
