Abstract
CYTOGAMY: A NEW SEXUAL PROCESS IN JOINED PAIRS OF PARAMECIUM CAUDATUM TWO sexual processes have been described for Paramecium in which three micronuclear (pregamic) divisions lead to synkaryon formation. Ono process, called conjugation (cross-fertilization), may be defined as the temporary union of two individuals involving three micronuclear divisions, nuclear exchange and the establishment of a new synkaryon in each conjugant.
