Abstract
F. Kögl and H. Erxleben state that the method used by Chibnall et al., although very suitable for the isolation of natural glutamic acid, appears not to be applicable for detecting the partial racomization of glutamic acid in hydrolysates from tumour proteins. The presence of racemic glutamic acid in tumour proteins was shown by the isolation of the d-form.
