Abstract
THE stress-momentum-energy tensor of a relativistically perfect fluid in the absence of exterior forces is where h, i, j … = 1, 2, 3, 4, gij is the fundamental tensor of space-time (signature +), is the Minkowskian velocity of the macroscopical motion (ihih = 1), p the pressure and the proper energy-density. Elsewhere1 I have shown that a fluid is only perfect in the relativistic sense if it is “perfectly perfect”, that is, if not only viscosity but also heat conduction is negligible. So long as (1) holds, no transition of heat between adjacent parts of the fluid occurs and the motion takes place without increase of entropy.
